Walt Decherd Tips To Live A Successful Life

Self Improvement – Scheduling Your Success

Walt Decherd Tips To Spend A Successful Life By Douglas Spencer

People always have an excuse for not being successful or not doing the things that they should be doing in order to be successful. And, one of the most popular excuses is not having enough time. If you always use this excuse, then you may want to remember the fact that everyone has exactly the same amount of time each day and there are people who become successful. The key to success is what you do with the time you have. That’s what really matters.

This is called scheduling your success. Basically, scheduling your success is about making time for the things you should do or tasks that you know that will make you successful. In order for you to do the tasks that you really need to do in order for you to become successful, you have to make time for it. This is why you need to set aside some time that you should dedicate in doing things that you need to be doing.

This concept is called time blocking. What this particular concept means is that you need to block out portions of your time to do a particular task. So, if you time block high level activities, and you do it consistently, you will be amazed as to the level of success that you will make. Time blocking can definitely help you get things done at a much efficient way.

Always remember that if you get things done, you will be much more organized. You have to keep in mind that you should get things done way before it reaches the deadline. This way, you will be able to be more successful.

If you have a small business, then you have to remember that running it is only a part of making it successful. What you really need to do is to sell the products and services you are selling and also market your business. Running the business is for managers. They will take care of everything there is about managing your business. Your role as the owner of the business is to sell or market your business.

Walt Decherd Lesson Of The Day

Self Improvement Lesson of the Day

Walt Decherd Lesson Of The Day By Cherie O’Neill

Constantly comparing yourself to others? It’s time to STOP now! This destructive behaviour deflates your self-confidence and self-worth and you may even give others the impression of being envious and resentful. Not really the kind of person you want to be, right?

Genetics, low self-esteem, societal pressure and having a perfectionist streak can all contribute to this bad habit. In today’s society there are so many areas for women to feel inadequate. Are you a good mother? Are you a good housewife? Are you pretty enough? Are you thin enough? Should I contribute more financially? We are constantly worrying about what we can offer and then basing our self-worth on this.

Consider this; approximately 98% of women are equal or less than you in abilities, talents or personality, and we still manage to compare ourselves to that “other” 2%!

Which Sex is the Worst Offender?

So are females the worst offenders? You may have thought this initially, but you could be wrong…

Women tend to define themselves through their relationships with others. Men however tend to measure their self worth by the job they do and their financial contributions to the family.

Today’s society seems to aggravate both sexes’ comparison issues. We live in a culture where our success seems to be measured by how much money we have, our material possessions and how many “important” people you know (and these people are not necessarily what you label friends either!).

It can be hard to convince yourself you have self-worth when you see images of celebrities who may be your age, have the same amount of kids, but are wrinkle free, cellulite free and still manage to look carefree!

It is important for both men & women to feel good about their self image and the things we have worked for and achieved right at this moment, whether it is material possessions you’ve worked hard for or the friends and family you love to spend time with.

Green with Envy

Speaking of “Green” there is no denying envy can be detrimental to your health. Envy has been linked to a range of physical ailments including depression and anxiety. It can also make you think you are a “failure” because you cannot be that “prettier, richer, smarter” person. You cannot make a positive change to your self development plans if you are wasting all your energy on negative comparisons and ill feelings.

What You Can do to Improve Your Self-Worth.

The good news is you can use envy as a useful tool for motivation. Examine what is in your control to improve yourself. For instance it could inspire you to follow a better diet and exercise regime if your goal is to look & feel fit and healthy. It could mean updating your skills and qualifications if your goal is to better yourself financially by getting that promotion.

Walt Decherd Tools To Handle Critical Situations

Self Improvement Starts With a Positive Attitude

Walt Decherd Tools To Handle Critical Situations By Judy C

No matter what is taking place in your life, you are the only person who can be of control of your attitude. It is your choice to make whether you are going to look positively at a situation or not. When life is running smoothly we approach each day with a positive outlook. However, when it seems like not another thing can go wrong, how will that reflect in your attitude?

Think back in your life to a time when your attitude choice made all the difference in the outcome of a situation. Perhaps you can think of someone else where their attitude played a big part in the results of a situation in their life.

The time in my life that comes to mind is when, after twelve years, I got divorced. My girls were nine and ten. I was truly devastated but after much thought and prayer came to the conclusion that it was not going to do me any good to wallow in self pity. Negativity and playing a victim only immobilizes us from doing the things we need to do. My children had already gone through enough. They did not need a weeping mother around. I needed to be positive and strong and put out lives together.

Are there times in your life that you can think of where because you, or someone else, looked at things with a positive attitude things that looked bleak ended on a positive note. No matter what is transpiring in your life have you ever thought of why it is crucial to maintain a positive attitude? This is an excellent question. I am sure we can all agree that we have learned that things in our life do not always go the way we have planned or want. It would a dream come true if for the remainder of our lives all aspects of every day were compiled of perfect relationships, happiness and peace. More than likely, this will not happen. Life has a way of throwing us a curve ball when we least expect it.

Our lives can be laced with possible heartaches, such as a divorce or broken relationships, the death of a love one, or possibly the loss of a job. The way we choose to accept these trials and tribulations will make a tremendous difference on how we come through them. In the midst of our darkest hours we can always remember better times, or things that we need to be thankful for. Look at your hardship in a positive light instead of dwelling on the fact that things are not going your way. Search for a lesson that can be learned going through your hard times.

Instead of wallowing in a “victim” mentality, it will make a big difference if you recall the blessings in your life and look at things in a positive light.

A positive attitude is an element that attracts a positive result! We have all heard about the law of attraction. If you are a negative person you will most likely end up in a negative situation. If you portray a positive attitude this will greatly ordain positive results in the future path of your life. Remember the story about the “Little Engine that Could”? We are just like that. If we are in a situation and choose the attitude that we will never make things right… we probably will not. If we choose to be positive and forge ahead knowing that we can make it through anything, then we will be amazed at the results.

An important thing to remember is that people see us and the kind of person we are by our choices. A negative person is by no means a pleasure to be around. A negative attitude can also affect our employment. Our attitude, positive or negative, speaks volumes about who we are. Working on having a good attitude is the first major step we can take in self improvement.

Walt Dechard Personal Development Advice By Belsheba Nyabwa

Did you know that you are capable of achieving more than you already have? They say the sky is the limit. Therefore, it is your obligation to do your very best and bring out your potential as you pursue success. The ability to make good use of your time is the key to utilizing your gifts to the maximum. It is sad to note that this life is full of starters but very few finishers. Many people give up alone the way due to distractions and time-wasting thus fail to reach their intended destiny.

It is said that those who make the best use of their time have none to spare. Normally, they do not have time for things that do not add value to their lives but instead concentrate on their main business, which is reaching for success. Since hard work goes hand in hand with time management, the most advisable way to make use of your time is to shed off negative attitude towards work. Make your work interesting and you will always love doing it.

Beside, loving your work, you should learn to be unique and principled in your own right. Be a testimony to others without saying a word. Realize that people will value you according to the respect you have accorded yourself. This way your actions and life shall be an example to others.

Walt Decherd Motivations

Through the Looking Glass

Walt Decherd Motivations By Tony Dean

My mother used to take me along when she visited an old lady down a cobbled lane who had a crystal ball on her dining room table and a pack of playing cards. My mother was superstitious and really believed a lot of what she was told by the old lady. She wanted to know what the future held not only for herself but for me, her only little boy. I was about five or six years old at the time, and used to gaze at the reflected images upon the crystal ball of the sunlit window behind me and the lace curtains, although the old lady would place her hands at either side of the crystal ball and say that she could see the future and told of what she saw, I could only see the reflection of that window with the lace curtains. The old lady was either a genuine medium or was just guessing what my mother wanted to hear to keep her coming back for more of the same, and make herself a small income to supplement her pension.

We all of us are seekers of knowledge to enhance our lives and most of us would admit we are a little superstitious but may not believe that anyone could foretell the future. If we really needed to know the future as regards our business, in particular, we would look at ‘trends’, and facts and figures on charts and graphs, so we may be able to predict where our business is going, we none of us would trust in an old lady with a crystal ball. If we wanted to be successful in business we would arm ourselves with sufficient knowledge to make it happen, and where else to look for knowledge but on the internet where all manner of business books are online, written by experienced business people who have ‘been there-done that’.

The internet is the first place people now go to find something out, whether it be for personal use or for business use, for there is a mind-boggling explosion of knowledge on the internet, most of which we are never going to read, simply because we would need to live to 900 years old to be able to find the time and that’s supposing no more knowledge gets added in the meantime. In that 900 years, inevitably, a lot of the information will go out of date, so we need to live another 900 years to catch up on the ‘updates’. This could go on forever, for there would always be more knowledge coming along we need to keep track of.

Yes, the internet is a wonderful depository of knowledge, the knack of using it to full advantage is to keep trawling and discovering new web sites and then having found some we like, for fresh new content, regular updates, etc., bookmark them in your browser, so you can find them again.

Steps Of Success By Walt Decherd

Published by Walt Decherd under Walt Decherd Advice

Position Yourself For Success

Steps Of Success By Walt Decherd By Michael Angier

“Just like in a race or game of chess, you must position yourself to make the right move. By being in the right place
at the right time, you can dramatically increase your chances for success in any endeavor.”

In the spring of 1940, Winston Churchill was asked to lead Great Britain in its defense against Germany. Few could argue that Churchill was the right person for the job.

He later wrote, “I felt as if I were walking with destiny, and that all my past life had been but a preparation for this hour and for this trial.” The new Prime Minister became one of the greatest statesmen in world history. He helped England successfully resist and (with the help of the U.S.) eventually defeat the Nazi war machine.

He was prepared for leadership.

We don’t have control over what happens to us. We do have a great deal of control over how we prepare ourselves and position ourselves for reaching our goals.

There may be times in our lives when the path ahead is unclear-when we’re not quite sure of which direction we should choose. If this is the case, we can always prepare for that time when we are clear and we do know exactly what to do. This can be a valuable time of preparation. And it can pay big dividends. Oftentimes, merely the process of preparation-the activity itself-will provide clarity and certainty as to our plans.

I recommend you use the following checklist to improve your personal positioning. How do you rate in each area? What can you do to enhance your preparedness?

1. Health and Vitality. You can’t have get-up-and-go if you don’t have a reserve of energy and good health. We must take care of ourselves in order to have the drive and strength to go after our dreams. You know what to do. It’s common sense. Eat right, get adequate rest, and take good care of your body. It’s the only one you get.

2. Education and Skills. What you know and what you can do in terms of skills is a big part of your positioning. What skills do you need to work on? What do you need to learn? Take some classes. Do some research. Read. Make a commitment to a life-long search for knowledge and upgrading your skills. It will not only increase your preparation quotient, but it will keep you feeling stimulated-even young.

3. Contacts. The people you know and the relationships you’ve developed over the years can be a virtual gold mine to you. It’s imperative you cultivate and build your associations in order to obtain help and round up talent for your projects.

4. Self-Image and Self-Esteem. How you feel about yourself comes across to others. It can’t be faked. You increase your self-esteem by doing the right thing-always. You improve your confidence by doing what you say you’ll do-whether you say it to yourself or to others. Every time we lie, we chip away at our self-image.

There is no status quo. We either build or tear down our self-esteem. Integrity is the essence of everything successful.

5. Finances and Credit. Most opportunities involve an investment of money as well as time and energy. Having money in the bank and good credit on which to borrow can go a long way toward tipping the scales in your favor. In the world of business, “cash is king.” Pay off those debts and create some savings (if you haven’t already) and get ready.

6. Attitude. People with good attitudes not only get more done, they attract opportunity and people who can help them.

How To Live A Successful Life By Walt Decherd

How to Achieve Success – A Primer For Income Generation

How To Live A Successful Life By Walt Decherd By Niko Poulios

“…our love of what is beautiful does not lend to extravagance; our love of things of the mind does not make us soft. We regard wealth as something to be properly used rather than as something to boast about. As for poverty, no one need be ashamed to admit it; the real shame is not taking practical measures to escape from it…” Pericles. 430 B.C.

SUCCESS! What is success? According to the dictionary, success is the attainment of wealth, favor or eminence. A favorable termination of a venture. So the next logical question is, what is wealth? Again, according to the dictionary, wealth is abundance of valuable material possessions or resources.

One may observe that our world is covered with an abundance of materials and resources, which brings us to the third and most fundamental question of: how come these material possessions and resources are in the hands of a very small group of people, people who are considered to be …wealthy? Who are these people? Are they different? How did they become successful?

These are the basic questions that average people ask when they can take a moment from their daily routines of “trying to make a living”. I have spent a good number of years of my life reading and learning about successful people and all this research has brought me to this monumental finding: in life, if you want to become a doctor you study medicine, if you want to become an architect you study architecture, therefore, if you want to become successful, you have to study success!

Most people would like to become successful and accumulate wealth. Statistics indicate that a lot of them try and fail. If you think about it, the reason is very simple: most of us, as we are growing up, we are constantly bombarded with information about what we can and can not do by people from our immediate environment, who basically care about us but, with a few exceptions, have not accomplished much and sometimes are failures. Unless you come from a family of millionaires, chances are that your grandparents depend on some form of assistance for survival, such as, social security, family help or other assistance, and your parents are probably struggling to make a living to help you get a job or to go to college so that you can go out and struggle for a living.

It turns out that you are taught to be “average” every day of your life, by average people, thus if you dare to think success, the thought alone will probably shock you. That is why becoming successful, wealthy, and staying wealthy has to do with conditioning yourself, your mind, your thoughts, your beliefs, your instincts, to think different, to think successful and to think wealthy.

Walt Decherd Positive Attitude

Success – A Matter of Attitude

Walt Decherd Positive Attitude By Louie Ang

Success has always been a matter of attitude. In the past, there have been many figures that made great contributions to society despite their predicament or lack of opportunity. One of the more renowned examples is Beethoven who despite losing his hearing composed some of the best pieces in the history of music. The time might’ve been different but the drive to succeed should be no different today than it was back then.

Here in the country, success stories are a dime a dozen but even though there are plenty here that made it to the top people still ask how they did it. Let me tell you one thing about them, they are where they are because they had the right attitude in reaching their goal. According Teodorico Haresco, Philippines’ resident entrepreneur, it doesn’t matter where you came from but how you deal with adversities along the way to get to where you want to be. I admit that having the attitude for success isn’t the only thing you need but it can surely give you the drive to acquire the necessary requirements for you to improve yourself and finally reach your goal.

One thing that I’ve learned from experience is that no matter how good you are, your attitude towards any task will affect its outcome. If your state of mind is directed towards failure then even if you finish a task it will still turn out mediocre. If you believe that you would succeed and put in all your effort then even if the task is small it will still garner praises. I personally believe that a sense of balance is your best tool when it comes to any venture and knowing when to move forward and stop is something that could save you from unwanted outcomes. Knowledge, experience and the right attitude will certainly lead you to the right road to success.

Walt Decherd Importance Of Self Improvement In Life

Why You Need Self Improvement and Motivation to Succeed in Life

Walt Decherd Importance Of Self Improvement In Life By Shawn Lim

Do you want to be successful in your life? If your answer is yes, then you will need self improvement and motivation in your life. Self improvement is something that allows you to learn and acquire new knowledge while motivation is the force and energy that will keep you going in your life.

In order to achieve your goals, live the kind of life you always dream about and be successful life, you need both self improvement and motivation. The determination to learn and the commitment to take the necessary action to make things come true are the 2 factors that will determine your success.

Unfortunately, most people lack both of them. For most people, they never read any books after they leave their student’s life. If a book can give you an idea of how you can improve your life and you read a book per week, what do you think will happen to your life? You will have read roughly 50 books a year and I can guarantee you that the knowledge you acquire from the books are enough to improve the quality of your life.

As for motivation, most people lack motivation and they never take any action even though they knew what they should do. For example, if you want to be rich, you know you cannot depend only on the income from your job; you need to create extra income. However, most people don’t have the drive or motivation to do it. Instead, they give lousy excuses such as they don’t have the time, they don’t have the money or they just don’t know how.

This is why you need to have both self improvement and motivation to succeed in your life. There are a lot of self improvement techniques out there. And the best way to learn them is by learning from someone who knows the proven method or system that can help you in achieving what you want in your life.

“Yes, You Can” Strategy By Walt Decherd

Yes, You Can!

“Yes, You Can” Strategy By Walt Decherd By Carol Rongey

Economic recession, wars, unemployment, foreclosures, crime, government bailouts, illness, taxes, the list goes on and on. Everywhere we turn today, from the news to conversations at our favorite coffee shop, negativity and bad news surrounds us. If it hasn’t affected us directly, we’re afraid it will soon. It seems hopeless. No wonder there is an increase in depression today.

Does life have to be like this? NO! Sure, sometimes things happen to us that we have no control over, but how we prepare for them and how we handle them is up to us.

Don’t be dependent on your doctor and your local pharmacy for your health. The first key to being healthy is to take care of yourself today, instead of getting sick, taking medications, and getting sick again because you didn’t make any changes in your lifestyle. Your doctor can’t make healthy choices for you, but Yes, You Can!

Everyone is concerned about the economy today, but sitting back and complaining about how our politicians are handling things isn’t improving your personal economy at all.

Give yourself an economic stimulus package by having multiple streams of income. Having a side business that brings in a few hundred dollars a month can not only help with your monthly expenses today, but could easily turn into a full time business should you get laid off from your “day job”. A benefit of home-based businesses that many people are unaware of is the numerous tax benefits of having a business that you run out of your home. Can you really make more money? Yes, You Can!

Look for ways to cut your expenses any way you can. Educate yourself on different types of mortgages so you can discuss your options with your broker and decide together what is best for your situation, do not just take his/her advice blindly. Another big expense today is insurance. Auto, health and life insurance together can cost hundreds of dollars each month. Learn how much coverage you really need. Learn about ways to reduce your premiums. Research different insurance companies. Can you reduce your monthly expenses? Yes, You Can!

By now you’re probably asking yourself how you can be an expert on so many different subjects. You don’t have to be! Learn enough to ask specific questions of those who are experts. Learn enough to let the experts know that you are knowledgeable about their subject and if they can’t answer your questions to your satisfaction, you will find someone who can. Learn enough so you are making decisions, not letting someone else make them for you. Can you gain this much knowledge? Yes, You Can!
